Hubert Sumlin, my heroes' hero.

One of the very few great things about being a writer is that, occasionally, an opportunity falls into your lap that others just won't ever get.  Such was the case when blues legend Hubert Sumlin decided to come to my town and play a little venue.

Now, if you don't know who Hubert Sumlin is, don't worry you're not alone.  I didn't know until I did my own research and discovered that all my favorite musicians call him their influence or inspiration.  Then there is the fact that rock and roll owes its existence to the blues, and this man learned from the man who learned from Charley Patton - Charley Patton is the Adam of the Rock Torah - and Robert Johnson, the man who established the long tradition of womanizing substance abusing rock gods dying at 27 under mysterious circumstances.

The more I learned about Hubert the more I couldn't believe how accessible he was.  Without further ado, here's the interview:
